1. Purpose
This policy defines how personal information of users is collected, used, stored, and protected in compliance with Decree No. 13/2023/ND-CP of the Government on personal data protection, Vietnamese laws, and international standards; in particular, the protection of children’s data and Apple’s requirements for applications under the Kids Category.
2. Definitions
Personal Information: information in the form of symbols, text, numbers, images, audio, or similar electronic forms associated with or identifying a specific individual (including basic and sensitive personal data).
Data Processing: any activity related to collecting, recording, storing, using, modifying, sharing, anonymizing, or deleting data.
Cookies: small files stored on a device to remember preferences and improve user experience.
DPO (Data Protection Officer): the person responsible for supervising personal data protection and policy compliance.
3. Scope of Application
Applies to all users of the Institute of Education Sciences and Training Research (IES) (children, parents, teachers, schools, and partners) on the website and mobile applications (iOS, Android).
4. Security Principles
Transparency: data is collected only with the clear consent of parents/guardians.
Purpose Limitation: data is used solely for education, research, and service improvement; not for commercial or advertising purposes.
Maximum Security: technical and organizational measures are applied to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or leakage.
No Tracking/No Profiling: no use of advertising SDKs, no fingerprinting, no cross-app tracking.
5. Types of Information Collected
Parent Account Information: full name, email, phone number (used only for login, account management, and technical support).
Children’s Learning Information: progress, assignments, feedback (stored internally for learning purposes, not shared externally).
Basic System Information: crash logs, performance logs in aggregated, anonymous form, not linked to identity.
The application does not require children to create accounts. Any contact details (full name, email, phone number), if provided, are collected only from parents/guardians.
No collection of IP addresses, no use of Device ID/IDFA for tracking, no sharing of data with third parties.
6. Purpose of Use
Personalizing learning content according to age.
Managing accounts, providing technical support, and responding to requests.
Internal analysis to improve content and features.
Educational research to enhance program effectiveness.
7. Data Storage and Protection
Data is stored on secure servers with firewalls, encryption, and regular backups; only authorized personnel may access and must comply with confidentiality commitments.
8. Data Retention Period
Data is retained for as long as necessary for the purposes stated above or as required by law. When parents request deletion/withdrawal of consent, the data will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days.
9. Information Sharing
The Institute does not sell, exchange, or disclose personal data to third parties. The only exceptions are: With the consent of parents/guardians; At the legal request of government authorities; With internal technical partners, where data must be fully anonymized and used only for system operation (not for advertising/analytics).
10. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Only essential cookies are used to maintain login and ensure functionality.
The application does not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics/tracking SDKs for children. Operational data (if any) is processed internally, anonymized, and not linked to identity.
Users may disable cookies in the browser; however, some features may be affected.
11. User Rights
Parents have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of data; withdraw consent; and file complaints if privacy rights are violated.
12. Policy for Children
Data for children under 16 is collected only with parental/guardian consent.
No advertisements are shown to children.
Content is age-appropriate, safe, and suitable.
13. Policy Updates
The policy may be adjusted to comply with laws and operational needs; any changes will be notified via the application and/or email at least 07 days before implementation.
