(BáoQuânKhu7) – On March 26, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Institute of Education Sciences and Training Research, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, organized a bilateral cooperation signing ceremony and a scientific seminar on sexuality education and the prevention of child abuse, in connection with ensuring social welfare.

The event was attended by Mr. Phonesy Bounmixay, Consul General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Lavanh Vongkhamsane, Chief of Office of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports; representatives of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports; Mr. Doan Trung Dung, Deputy Chief of Office of the Central Emulation and Commendation Board; and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hieu, Former Deputy Director General of the Department of Early Childhood Education, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

The cooperation signing ceremony aimed to establish and strengthen a collaborative framework in education and scientific research between the two parties, focusing on early childhood education, sexuality education, life skills, and child protection. It also contributes to reinforcing the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The bilateral agreement was formally conducted to consolidate this partnership, with key areas of cooperation including early childhood education—particularly the implementation of age-appropriate sexuality education programs, life skills development, and child protection initiatives—thereby further strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two countries.

The review conference evaluated the outcomes of the 12-month implementation of Official Dispatch No. 4407/VP-VX issued by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, identifying achievements, limitations, and proposing directions and solutions to enhance effectiveness in the coming period. The scientific seminar focused on analyzing the relationship between sexuality education, child abuse prevention, and social welfare, providing both theoretical and practical foundations for policy development and improvement.

Units that effectively implemented the ERA Kids program were awarded certificates of merit.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also commended preschools and organizations that demonstrated effective implementation, contributing to the dissemination of best practices and innovative approaches.

The program contributes to strengthening inter-sectoral coordination, promoting international cooperation, and improving the effectiveness of educational policy implementation toward sustainable development.
